And it's fact, there's no shounen MC that isn't showered by luck. sure they trained, they worked hard and they've struggled in one way or the order but is that enough to make you that strong? or let me rephrase that; is it enough to bring you to a level above others? mention them midoriya, Luffy, Asta, Goku, Naruto, and many more. Midoriya was born quirkless but still somehow got one of the strongest quirk in the entire series. his own struggle was to work hard to make the quirk his own. In Luffy's case, he eats a fruit that basically affects how he fights, without his devil fruit there are definitely some fights that luffy would not have won. them we now find out that the fruit is a least the most OP devil fruit in the series.
