with the wide spectrum of anime characters, not all will be able to reach our expectations and with Anime characters getting better and better, we realize that the bar is getting higher and higher, character design is getting better and animation and design are at their all-time high.
Some anime characters fall short in shat we expected them to do or achieve or how useful we thought they'll be and today I'll be listing 10 of those characters.
without further ado, here they are:
10. Tenten
In my opinion, When anime uses a group of three people there will always be one person who falls short in some kind of way, in this case, that person is Tenten.
One would expect her weapon mastery to be a bit more powerful. maybe it's because of her under-exposure to the spotlight but still, her weapon mastery was much less useful than expected.
9. Minero Mineta
minero has been disliked for many reasons but the reason he is on this list is not because of his seemingly annoying character but his quirk with low practical usage.
his quirk "pop off" can make him produce sticky spheres on his head.
this ability does not help his mobility, and strength and doesn't have much use in real-life situations there's also the fact that his quirk can be overused.
8. Okabe Rintaro
despite being a scientist that is supposed to be smart at least art enough, all his inventions were mistakes and despite making such a mistake and achieving results he decided to start using them.
Not only that but when things came to a tough point he didn't have enough mental fortitude to keep going in his predicament and needed the help of Kurisu Makise at every turn.
7. Kosei Arima
I get that "you lie in April" is supposed to be a slice of life/tragedy anime but Kosei Arima is just not man enough to do anything the moment something doesn't go right in his head... "I can't hear the sound"
it's a bit tiring when the same excuse is used by a single character over and over again. and even if he regains himself he jumps right back to square one.
6. Igarashi Ganta
Igarashi ganta is the main character of the anime "deadman wonderland". it being an action anime series, you would expect someone who was framed to possess enough willpower unlike the other prisoners but he just goes along with the flow and uses Shiro as support any and every time.
5. Leorio Paradinight
Leorio is one of the four make. characters in the hunter x hunter series.
I understand the fact that he wants to become a doctor, and doctors don't normally do lots of fighting but what's with the hyping of hunters and how strong they were, then making Leorio that weak?
personally I am not a fan of characters being left behind and this is a perfect example.
aren't hunters supposed to be rare commodities, aren't they supposed to possess some fighting skill? yes, they are, except Leorio.
4. Rin Okuruma
Rain okuruma was an utter disappointment, without the devil's power, one could body say that he was utterly useless. he could have played a more functional role in the series instead of being no we around by Mephisto. his character is another problem his impulsive nature is just unimpressive and plain disappointing, when he speaks I couldn't help but cringe.
3. Suzaku
the so-called best friend of Lelouche is another disappointing character, not just his character but his ideals also.
First of all, we all saw him when he first met the princess. it's not like they were married or something, why get so angry in the first place?
he is unable to think from another perspective, that is to say, he thinks so plainly and can't grasp an understanding of the real situation just as the other characters did. even till the end, he remained as ignorant even when other characters realized what they had done.
and what for, all for a girl he barely talked to.
2. Bam
well... the manga aside we know that Bam was the literal definition of naive and ignorant. from the very first he met Rachael in the tower and her reactions it would have been understandable if he decided to leave her but no... his extremely friendly nature just hinders his potential and is an utter disappointment.
so much for an Irregular.
1. Yukiteru Amano
when it comes down to relying on someone else and being completely useless, this guy takes the number one spot.
he has completely zero characteristics of the main character and remains that way throughout the series.
He always relies on yuno for everything, on his own he is completely useless.
despite having one of the best diaries in the series, it was useless in his hands.
