we know we have so many anime characters. some anime might even have up to a thousand characters featured in the series. therefore it's not strange to see a few characters that have deviated from the point or that have completely no value in the series.
let me be clear... the fact that a character doesn't suit what you had pictured or the fact that a character doesn't impress you doesn't mean it's poorly written. if I were to write a post on the most annoying characters I've come across, the list would be almost endless but that's not what poorly written character is.
at first thought, the name of this blog post was the top 5 bullish*t anime characters. but I changed that to fit the context appropriately.
without further ado let's present the scum of the earth; the top 5 most terribly written anime characters.
5. Konohamaru
Well... in the main naruto series, we had high hopes for him he gave off the notion that he was going to be a great ninja but something went wrong somewhere between the naruto shipunden and the Boruto anime series. he lost all value. there is absolutely no point in him being in that series.
his was so degraded that the very person who claimed to be the only pupil of naruto also claimed to be the one to be homage after naruto has been reduced to such a level. I'm not saying being a teacher is a negative attribute, I'm just saying that that's pretty low for someone with a such big dream in the naruto series.
4. Gohan
Gohan is another seemingly pointless character in the dragon ball series. I realized that they wanted to make him the main character of dragon ball but ceased the idea 💡 but why in the world would you make him so pointless?
and if I remember correctly all Vegeta can brag about is the strength and potential that Saiyans possess even to his son Trunks.
But Gohan is just a Saiyan that can fly, simply that he is incapable of doing anything special, or rather he didn't do anything special throughout the entire series and I don't think we will be getting anything special from him anytime soon.
3. Sakura
I know sakura has gotten a lot of hate throughout the internet but that is not false... while people might hate her for various kinds of reasons the fact remains that she is still a terribly written anime character.
in essence, she is a character with nothing to her name except for the fact that she is in the squad of naruto and Sasuke and she still doesn't know that even her goals are related to the both of them. Her goals are to catch up to both of them... to be honest... what a bullshit goal with no aspect of personality in it.
even in every other squad in the Konoha village, each member has a valid role that they play to show that they are actually important not just in the series but in the squad itself but Sakura falls short on that aspect. even if her role was to play support in the squad she didn't do anything supportive to the squad until it broke down (Sasuke's betrayal).
2. Boruto
To be honest... this anime was not even supposed to be in existence.
what's it supposed to be?... the life after Naruto has brought peace?
it's so obvious that they're desperately trying to bring villains into a world that hardly needs it. it is totally unnecessary as a series.
secondly, is the character itself. Boruto is the complete wrong description of what the main character should be, he doesn't even fit to be a side character.
he can't get any valid backstories, why? because we've already watched it in the naruto series. likewise all those other characters in the series. it's total bullcrap.
1. Asta
Yes... asta is a terribly written character and it's not just a personal opinion it's fact.
why... unlike the other characters listed here Asta has played an important role in the series. he is even one of the most important characters in the series.
But there is one important factor that people forget due to the appearance of intense scenes and battles throughout the series and that important factor is Hardwork.
let me ask a question. what has Asta worked hard to achieve? you think him building a couple of muscles and doing push up was what made him this strong?
that's low for a character trying to emphasize the importance of hard work to have done nothing to get to where he is today.
you could even say that the whole world was rigged... everyone gets their grimoire by luck and no matter your defense its just based on luck and heritage which has not one bit of hard work in it.
asta got the five leaf grimoire by pure luck also which just happens to be superior to the other leaf book because of it's anti-magic abilities. it's rubbish, even the power of the grimoire is nothing but the devil's powers.
if they wanted to make a truly unfortunate character, they would have made him like the masses with a normal three leaf grimoire or even less and they should have left him with nothing but those and his dream and see if he would really reach the goal of wizard king.
