Anime is great and all but I can’t just remove the feeling that the movies are being left out and it’s my job to bring valuable sauce to all the anime fans out there. The anime movie list here isn’t necessarily the best out there but they're definitely good ones that I’ve selected from my list, they are from different genres and different studios, feel free to thank me later.
7. GYO
Gyo is an anime with quite a peculiar premise, it’s a kind of a thriller anime movie and it has a storyline where dead fishes from the sea begin to walk out with insect legs and begin to infect the world with a kind of disease that turns people to a green blurb. The story tells of a girl who ran to the city to save her boyfriend but what she met there was like nothing other.
I'll expect you guys to watch this one, the storyline is nice, the characters are also quite interesting but ill warn you…if you don’t have the stomach for creepy or disgusting things, be prepared.
6. SWORD OF A STRANGER
I’ll have to admit, I’m a real fan of samurai and swordsman-related anime and this one didn’t disappoint me a bit; the sword fights are just too good, the story tells of a samurai who coincidentally meets a boy who he then helps in the future. Well…the story is a lot more complicated than this but just to avoid ruining the surprise ill zip my mouth for now.
5. MADE IN ABYSS MOVIE 3
Made in abyss is quite the popular anime, and it is for a reason. But to truly enjoy this movie you have to be familiar with its anime series. The series shows the adventure of Riko, Reg and Nanachi, and the terrifying secrets of the abyss. The movie itself talks partly about Nanachi, Reg, and Riko’s mother. If you’re interested in action, then this is the anime for you because you’ll have to expect some crazy battles but that’s not all; if you also like an anime with a sad and touching premise you should also take a look at this. It is not considered a masterpiece for anything, it has a perfect blend of action and a good storyline.
4. A SILENT VOICE
The anime of 2016, a silent voice is an intriguing romance/slice of life anime. I didn’t believe it until I had the opportunity to watch it myself and I’m proud to say that this anime was better than I had ever dreamed of. It tells the story of a girl with impaired hearing who is bullied mercilessly and a boy who is the leader of the gang that bullies her; years later one of her bullies set out to make amends. It is an interesting anime and a must-watch for a slice of life anime fans.
3. ONE PIECE STAMPEDE
The legendary shounen anime, and one of my top favorites; we have one piece. Although the anime is as long as anything, you don’t have to watch the whole series to understand the movie but it’ll still be ok if you do. In this movie all the pirates are lured by an intriguing offer; that the winner of competition would be given one of gold d roger’s treasures. But apparently, the navy got wind of the situation and launched a full attack to capture the pirates. All that is left is the battle between the worse generation and one of gold roger’s crewmates. It’s a whole bunch of unending action waiting for you to view it, try it out.
2. BAKEMONO NO KO
Bakemono no ko is a peculiar anime, it has a rare storyline and a quite interesting plot. Mind you…what makes this anime so good isn’t just the plot but instead a combination of a good storyline plot, music, and so many others. The story tells of a boy who got lost and found himself in the realm of spirits he lives there and trains with his so-called master unaware of the huge disaster his presence in the spirit realm could cause.
1. GAVE OF FIREFLIES
This anime isn’t like the others, they are quite good but in this list, this is the only anime that tells of a sad storyline. The animation may be a bit behind the times but as I always say ‘it wouldn’t be the anime without its animation’. It tells of the struggle a boy and his sibling face during the Japanese war times. It is indeed one of the best anime movies you could possibly set your eyes on right now.
