TOP 7 ANIME CHARACTERS WITH INSANELY BROKEN ABILITIES

There’s a whole lot of anime abilities and skills, they can range from elemental attacks all the way to magical summons and kinds of stuff of that sort. But when we’re looking at anime as a whole there is one unavoidable thing, OVERPOWERED CHARACTERS. 

Yeah, just what you read, anime can take this overpowered stuff to a whole new level, way beyond your imaginations. At times it might even look unfair. After looking into some of these characters, I found myself thinking “isn’t it just a little bit unfair that there are characters with this sort of abilities” I mean…they would make the other ones look like trash. What do you think it means to have a broken ability in anime?

 Let me give this example, I’m sure at one point or the other you’ve come across a character who has this particular move that can override other attacks or that other abilities don’t stand a chance against, that’s what I’m talking about; it doesn’t necessarily mean strong characters because I’m talking about the ability and not the character. 

In essence, that’s what having a broken ability is all about.

 The English dictionary defined ‘broken’ as being overly powerful and we both know that anime on its own has got that covered. Without further ado, I introduce the top 7 anime characters with insanely broken abilities.

7. NEZUMI – hundredth path of Nezumi

 Nezumi is a character from the anime series ‘JUUNI TAISEN’. This anime began with the introduction of several of its main characters and showed us just how strong they were but it wasn’t until the ending that we fully understood how his special ability works. I’m positive that characters from other anime could defeat him but in this particular anime, it’s like having a cheat code.

 Nezumi is one of the 12 zodiacs who participated in the juuni Taisen battle royal. He is the zodiac of the rat and his real name is Tsugiyoshi Sumino. He may be one of the weakest fighters, physically in the battle royal but his ability ‘hundred paths of Nezumi’ made it seem like the other had fought for nothing. His ability allows him to tamper with the realm of probability, he can carry out a hundred different choices at once and then decide which one would become reality. For example, in a game of rock-paper-scissors he would play rock, paper, and scissors and if he settles on rock reality would act as if he had never chosen paper or scissors. This way he can make the best possible decisions to ensure his survival.

6. KIRA YOSHIKAGE – killer queen

Kira is by far, one of the smartest villains ever shown in Jojo’s bizarre adventure as of now. But today we won’t be looking into his wits we’ll only take a deep dive into his abilities and what makes it so broken. Kira is a stand user and the major antagonist of the 4th season of Jojo’s bizarre adventure, he has a stand called ‘killer queen’. The stand by itself has two abilities but it later gained an extra one. The first stand ability makes Kira able to detonate anything that his stand has touched; he can blow people up into nothing, has an infinite range of its detonation and the size of the explosion can be manipulated.

Killer queen’s 2nd bomb (sheer heart attack) is an indestructible tank-like stand with an infinite range, which can be operated remotely and autonomously. Its works quite simply, it moves itself towards the strongest heat source and detonates itself (it is not affected by the detonation), and moves on to the next heat source. 

Killer queen’s 3rd bomb (bites the dust); in this ability, Kira leaves himself defenseless by transferring his stand to a non-stand user by telling them his real identity. Killer queen becomes independent and protects the third party it has been assigned to. When someone is informed of Kira’s true identity (regardless of the source), the stand enters their eyes and detonates them after this the stand creates a time loop and returns one hour before the explosion. Whoever was blown up previously is destined to be blown up at the exact same time he/she was previously detonated. Any stand user who witnesses this is immediately blown up, multiple people can be detonated at once. 

5. GOJO SATORU – infinite void

Now we're talking about the famous ‘Kakashi-the 2nd’ Gojo is literally one of the strongest characters introduced in Jujutsu Kaisen and it's not because he can throw punches or do cool kinds of stuff or because he is hot but it’s because of how OP his powers can get. When he fought against Jogo, I could feel nothing but pity for the poor villain as he stood 0% chance from the very beginning, even the idea of laying a finger on him is unheard of. One of his famous abilities is limitless; which allows him to manipulate the space around himself; in its base state, it allows him to manipulate the space between him and his opponent making it impossible for them to lay a finger on him. 

Another of his attack is Infinite void, the infinite void is Gojo’s domain expansion and if you watch the anime you’ll understand that domain expansion in itself is a pretty big deal. Infinite void gives the opponent limitless information that they will be able to see and feel everything while seeing and feeling nothing at the same time, this paralyzes the opponent causing them to die slowly.

4. ACCELERATOR – vector manipulation

Accelerator is a character from the anime ‘TOARU MAJUTSU NO INDEX’. He is the first ranked and undoubtedly the strongest level-5 esper in the city. At first, his abilities were thought to be only that of manipulating vectors but it has been shown to be far greater than that; his calculating prowess and massive intellect gives him the ability to know and understand strange laws that are unknown to him, in fact, the combined brains of 10,000 level 3 sisters are only able to make up less than half of accelerator’s calculating power. 

Vectors major ability is his vector manipulation which is based on the principle of vectors; it allows him to influence object with magnitude and direction such as bullets, heat, electricity, gravity, light, etc. he can also use it to generate earthquakes, tactile telekinesis, pyrokinesis, plasma generation, acceleration, mind hacking, flight, sound nullification, blood control, etc.

3. GIORNO GIOVANA – gold experience requiem

We have another character from Jojo’s bizarre adventure named Giorno Giovanna, he is the son of the famous Dio. Giorno is a smart quit witted anime character, he started with his stand being able to give life to an inanimate object; if you think of it the power seems quite average, don’t get it confused with something like big mom’s from One piece this one has quite the peculiar attachment to it, he uses it to turn small things into plant and insects mostly. That’s not the only catch; the real ability came after his experience in Paris with the stand-creating arrow. After this event, Giorno got his ‘gold experience requiem’. At this point it is the most powerful stand in the anime, not only does it has increased stats compared to its predecessor but every aspect of its previous ability becomes better and stronger. 

The true ability of this requiem is called “RETURN TO ZERO” it is the power to revert actions and willpower, completely nullifying them and preventing them from existing in the first place, if someone were to be killed by this, their death would be infinite; every time they die they will return to the point before they die thereby trapping the victim in an infinite loop of death with infinite possibilities.

2. MEDAKA – the end

Medaka is a character from the anime series ‘MEDAKA BOX’. She is a character who excels at everything and her ability proves just that. Her super-power “the end” allows her the mastery of any superhuman ability that she sees or hears about. On top of that, she can outshine the owner or rivals by using such ability to 120%. The ability allows her to reveal a more powerful version of any attack.

1. MISOGI KUMAGAWA – all fiction

I’m going to give it to you straight; the last guy on this list is basically a walking cheat code. This character is from “medaka box” All fiction is an ability possessed by Misogi kumagawa, he is someone whose involvement with Medaka and Zenkichi goes back to thirteen years ago; he is described as having no malice, hope, or any feeling but would kill everyone on a whim. All fiction is the ability to make anything fiction, as in to make anything stop existing. It works on anything and can turn anything/anyone into nothing. It even works on actions; if someone hits Kumagawa, he can turn that action into fiction to make it that he is not hit. It even works on death; if kumagawa dies due to any reason, all fiction kicks in automatically to make it so whatever caused his death doesn’t exist or that the act of him dying didn’t exist. He can also manipulate causality and conceptuality; at some point, he even turned the world into black and white.
