there's a whole lot of anime...a lot. even touch to count, that being said some will outshine others but there are still some anime that deserves a lot more recognition than it's getting. some of you have never even heard of the anime's I'm going to be listing and some might've but even I came upon some of these anime my mere coincidence.
note; these anime will not be ranked they are simply a list of anime that deserve more attention.
1. Katekyo hitman reborn
This is probably the most underrated shounen anime I've come across. most people dismiss it without getting to see what it is really about.
yeah, yeah...most people that have even seen it would argue about the main character is whiny and annoying but that's why there is something called character development.
Although Sawada tsunayoshi started out to be a completely useless person he is still free to be a lot better.....if you ask me, that's what shounen anime is about.
Sawada tsunayoshi or tsuna is a boy who doesn't excel in both grade and sport, there is no great word to describe him but all that changes when he meets Reborn who aims to train him to become the 10th generation boss of a mafia group.
if you're thinking of asking how he became later on in the series
yes...he did become badass but still retain the playful side of himself like any other shounen protagonist.
2. To be a hero
well...I've heard of so many comedy anime series from various websites and YouTube but never have I heard someone mention the anime "to be a hero", that's because even I came upon it by chance I decided to watch a random anime and oh boy! was it interesting.
it is a plain comedy anime of nothing more than ~15 minutes if I'm not exaggerating.
For Uncle, a lecherous but handsome toilet designer, it is just an ordinary day of neglecting his duties as a single parent to hit on women and talk about his "superpower": his ability to tell a lady's hip size at a glance. But when he is sucked down into a toilet, the Space Peace Republic Alliance Hero Committee gives him real superpowers, and he becomes the hero of Earth. There is only one problem–-he has become an ugly, unrecognizable fatty who is unable to reveal his real identity.
Uncle's beloved daughter Min-chan does not believe that such a vulgar fatty could be her father and casts him out of his own home. Distraught and homeless, he joins up with his perverted neighbor Yamada-san, a small man with a fondness for streaking, and sets out to convince Min-chan that he is her father.
Full of sexual innuendo and slapstick humor, To Be Hero follows Uncle as he befriends bizarre allies and combats even more bizarre foes, fighting for the future of earth against aliens and—more importantly—his future with his daughter
3. To be a heroine
this is the second season of the anime " to be a hero" it was introduced with a different name, characters, and storyline but remains ever so interesting. it tells the tale of a young girl who found herself in another world where she met an eight-year-old baby naked but could walk and talk she us then mysteriously attacked by the mafia whereby an attempt to escape her shoe fell off which in turn turned into a fighter that protected her.
how do her clothes turn into people, who was that baby, and her the hell is she...she seeks to find out these questions.
4. Kaiji
well...I've certainly seen the hype anime as Kakegurui gets but there is one fact, kakegurui isn't all that good, their gambling is only based on cheating and finding how the cheating was done but here we have a real anime about gambling, one that has to do with the life of the player.
Kaiji has a peculiar animation and a well relatable main character, it isn't slow-paced and can easily grab one attention but the reason this anime seems to be ignored is because of its time, apparently is was produced in 2007 when anime was not as popular as it is now but it still something to behold.
the story centers around a man, Kaiji was got deceived to enter a gambling ship to pay the debt he barely even knew about. on the ship, after being deceived for the second time he finally understood how the world works and what he must do to win.
5. Senyuu
One of my very recent anime, I found quite interesting though the art style was what made it so good and how they each fit the characters personalities...enough of all that character stuff, let me get into the real detail of why it's so good. have you watched Gintama or konosuba, then you'll love this the episode are not longer than four minutes but it's still definitely would grab your attention.
the story centers around a boy who is one of the 75 decedents of the Hero, one day a mysterious hole pops up where demons from the demon realm come into the kingdom and he is one of the heroes meant to stop them and kill the demon lord
6. shugurui; death frenzy
this is one gore anime that goes unnoticed. the first minute of the anime starts with a guy pulling out his intestines. this anime is the best for those who are into samurai kinds of anime.
the best thing about this anime is that it isn't all about fights but what actually happened between two fighters, the storyline may be to complex for the simple-minded but it is still something one can enjoy vividly.
At the beginning of the Edo Era, when people enjoyed a time of peace, Lord Tokugawa Tadanaga holds a fighting tournament. In the past, matches were fought with wooden swords. This time, real swords will be used. One-armed Fujiki Gennosuke and blind Irako Seigen will fight each other in this match. Both are disciples of Iwamoto Kogan, who is known as Japan’s greatest swordsman. Each of them are determined to prove himself the successor of Iwamoto’s school. However, there can only be one champion. So begins a story of intertwining fates, conflict, and strange destinies
Other examples of anime that deserve more recognition that it gets are;
- ushio and tora
- terra formers
- gangstars
- ajin
- 009 re:cyborg
- ghost in a shell
And many more.
