To compare two animes together is usually a difficult task, but in this case it is a lot more easier mostly for those who have seen both animes'. There is actually a huge difference between boruto and Naruto.
In boruto the characters are not well built and evaluated upon, we all know that thier parents will surely do the best for them, therefore adding no mysteries to thier background.
A proper example in this case is to compare Sasuke's history to sarada's, it is like comparing between two opposite world's. Sasuke's life was full with the killing of his clan and his stuggle for revenge while the life of sarada is about how she hasn't seen her father.
Let's take a look at the storyline in boruto, it is nothing compared to that of Naruto. Even the inclusion of technology to boruto just brings it lower than expected. Surely the storyline of boruto is no longer in the era of ninjas
Even when comparing the battles in the two anime Naruto's is a lot better, each fight is carried along with emotions either from thier background, the storyline or maybe thier struggles.
