One piece had been a really great journey, but the fact remains that we are all hungry to know those characters who are the strongest. And I will be judging here based on their physical powers in combat.
Here are the top 20 strongest one piece characters.
20. Jimbei
A friend to both Ace and Luffy, he is a merman, and probably the strongest one around. He was formally a warlord, this explains how strong he is.
19. Boa Hancock
Here is another warlord, and the leader of a clan of women. She has done he devil fruit power to use lust and seduction to turn people to Stone at will.
18. Captain Kid
One of the 12 pirate of the worst generation. Before the time ark he was know to have caused havok somewhere.
He has definitely grown since then. He uses a devil fruit power that deals with magnetism, the true extent of his power has not yet been revealed. I'm sure he is going to be insanely strong.
17. Trafalgar Law
Trafalgar Law is another member of the worst generation, he is indeed a very popular character. He lived with doflamingo, that is to show that he has passed through rigorous training.
He ate the "ope ope no mi" devil fruit and then became a death surgeon. His devil fruit power has various abilities, some which are best known if you watch the "one piece" series.
16. Donquixote doflamingo
Here probably the most sinister and evil character introduced in one piece. He has the devil fruit ability to control threads. His power sounds weak but it is nothing like that. He has enough power to hold a country hostage. With his ability he can create clones, control people and even heal internal injuries. Not only that but he uses the emperor's haki which is only used by very few.
15. Charlotte katakuri
Katakuri is one of the sweet general on big mom's ship. And the second in command after big mom. He uses the devil fruit of mochi, which he can shape to anything he wants, his back has never fallen on the ground, which means he had never been defeated until his encounter with Luffy. He has trained his haki so hard that he can see the future.
14. Monkey .D. Luffy
Here is our main character, he dreams of becoming the pirate king. He uses the "gomu gomu" devil fruit power, this power turned him into a rubber man. He has trained his ability and has passed different stages. He also posses the emperor's haki. But what earned him his spot on this list is the defeat of Charlotte katakuri.
13. Sabo
He is the second strongest person in the revolutionary army. He is a brother to Luffy and has extremely powerful haki. He got the devil. Fruit ability of Ace that is; the ability to weild fire.
12. Hawkeye mihawk
This is also another warlord also known as shichibukai. He is known as the greatest swordsman in the world. Although he has no devil fruit ability, his movement are incredible. Fact has it that he even trained Zoro for two years and thought him how to use haki
11. Sengoku
This is a vice admiral of the Marine officers and this title is no ordinary one. It tells that you have an incredibly high power level. He has a the devil fruit ability which allows him to increase his size.
10. Fujitora
He is another vice admiral, and a blind one for that matter. He uses the devil fruit power which enables him to control gravity. He can easily destroy Luffy, his crew and those his followers.
9. Monkey .D. Garp
Here's another vice admiral, and the grand father of Luffy. He doesn't use any devil fruit ability. But you can tell that he has a load of power. He has an insanely strong haki and when Ace was killed he asked someone to hold him, if not he would wreck havok.
8. Borsalino/kizaru
This is an admiral, yes one of the three strongest people in the Marine. He uses a devil fruit which gives him the ability of light. You should know that the scar on luffy's chest was given by kizaru
7. Aokiji
Another admiral indeed and surely a character to free feared. He has a devil fruit ability which enables him to conjure up ice from nothing. He fought against Akainu turning half of the island to ice
6. Big mom
She an elite and extremely feared pirate she is a member of the Yonko, also known as emperor of the sea. She is the captain of the big mom's pirate. If you thought katakuri was strong, just know that he is nothing compared to Big Mom. She has the ability to control soul and controls thunder and fire in her hands. She is extremely crazy for candy and would destroy almost anybody just for a wedding cake.
5. Kaido
Another member of the Yonko, he is extremely strong and has defeated all the members of the worst generation that came to fight him. He was the one in control over the activities of doflamingo.
His devil fruit gives him the power to transform into a dragon. He defeated Luffy with one strike and he was drunk. He surely deserves to be in the last five of this list.
4. Shanks
Also a member of the Yonko, he is an uncle to Luffy and formally a crew member in white beards ship. He possesses great strength and can use the emperor's haki.
He holds a great deal of power not known to us, after the death of white beard, in other to rescue Luffy, he threatened the Marines and all the admirals.
3. Monkey .D. Dragon
He is the leader of the revolutionary army and the most wanted man in the world, that makes us understand how strong he is. He is practically called "dragon the revolutionary".
2. Akainu
This is the final of the three admirals, the strongest and most despicable. He fought against Aokiji and won Turing half of the island to larva. And as you've heard he has the ability of larva, he simply killed Ace by putting his hand through Ace's chest.
1. Marshall .D. teach
Here is the main antagonist of this series, and the newest member of the Yonko. He was a former member of white beard's ship and he remains the only person to posses more than one devil fruit ability. One of white is the power of darkness and second which is to cancel out other devil fruit abilities when he touches them. He also gained the strongest devil fruit power and that is the power to control earthquakes. This power was formally used by a man known to be the strongest person in existence.
And these are the list I'm sure many of you would have expected to see Ace or white beard, but because they had already died in the series I did not add them to the list
