Are you looking for an anime to watch ?, then you better start watching this anime because the adventures, struggles, characters and epic moments made me to make this number 3 in my list of top must watch anime.
It's story line is based on the pirate era. When the pirate king (a pirate who has gained all the wants if the world including wealth and fame and who is the most free man in the world) was executed, but he said before he died that his wealth was hidden somewhere in the grand line and whoever could find this wealth (one piece) would obtain all life's desires.
That brings us to our main character: monkey D luffy, the man who us going to become the pirate king. Well just at the age of 17 he left his island to look for his crew:
Zoro
Sanji
Ussop
Nami
Chopper
Robin
Brook
Franky
These are his crew mate, zoro is the swordsman, sanji is the cook, ussop is the sniper, nami is the navigator, chopper is the doctor, robin is the archeologist, brook is the musician, Franky is the shipwright and luffy is the captain.
This then brings us to devil fruits. These are fruits that gives abilities to people when it is eaten but the users of such fruits have a great weaknesses which is salt water and sea prism stone. Luffy is indeed a devil fruit user he ate the gomu gomu fruit which gave him the ability of a rubber man, some of his crew mates are also devil fruit users like brook who ate a fruit that gave him an extra life and chopper who is a deer that ate the human human fruit then there is also robin who ate a fruit that allows her to bring out body parts from anywhere. There are many other type if devil fruit you'll find out about them when watching one piece. Also let's not forget about the admirals, warlords and emperors; there are three admirals, nine warlords and four emperors. The admirals are the highest rank of the navy officer, the warlords are pirate that works for the government while the emperors are pirate who are out to get the one piece, I would refer to them as the four strongest character in this anime. Formally the four emperors were; big mom, kaido, shanks and white beard but white beard died in the war against the world government but he died on his feet after being stabbed three times, shot with gun more than a hundred times and shot with a bazooka more than ten times. Despite all those he still died on his feet and his back remained untouched.
He was replaced with black beard; white beard crewmen who betrayed him by killing his own nakama, black beard has the power of darkness and also white beards fruit power (earthquakes).
Pirate usually have bounties on their heads, which is an indication of how dangerous they are. Luffy started with a bounty of 30,000 on his head. It was after he and his crew picked a fight with the world government that all his crew mates were given bounties, these made them become feared pirate but he's still the same goofy luffy.
I would say the most heart touching part in one piece would be the scenario in impel down. Impel down is the most inescapable prison in the whole world and the prison ward is a guy who uses poison poison devil fruit, the moment he touches you you are doomed to die. Luffy came to the prison to rescue his brother (ace) who is a White beard pirate, but by the time he got there, ace had already been taken for execution now to escape is the problem. Luffy fought the prison warden and was powerless against him, I would say he was close to death when someone saved him it was an acquaintance o his father. While luffy was unconscious there is this guy who got into the prison because he was protecting luffy and his crew (bon). He stood there shouting "get well soon luffy" people actually mocked what he was doing but he said to himself that since luffy had worked so hard to come and save his brother he to must do his best to help luffy, he kept on screaming till the extent that he was coughing blood.
When luffy recovered he set out with ace's cell mate (jimbei).
But the prison warden and his assistant stood to stop them someone named buggy devised his own escape plan, planning to release as many criminal as he could so as to escape through the commotion. The commotion helped in slowing down the prison warden, all they could do was run.
A huge lake surrounded the prison so they had to find a ship to sail them away. As they got to the gate there was a huge unbreakable gate that had to be open from inside the prison. As they were wandering how they would escape the gate suddenly opened, that was when jimbei told him who opened the gate; it was bon the same person who came into the prison because he was protecting luffy, everyone on the ship cried, indeed I haven't seen a greater sacrifices like his.
